We took about 30 minutes to go up and 30 minutes to go down, being treated to incredible views along the way.

It’s a 30-minute hike to get there, which most Brazilians did on their Havaianas, but we opted for hiking shoes. The trail gives you wonderful views of Lagoa da Coceição, the coast, and Praia Mole.
• Praia Galheta: Located on the island’s eastern side and only accessible by foot, this beautiful beach is a secluded and tranquil spot. Popular with naturists, Praia Galheta is known for its picturesque scenery, which is perfect for a stroll.

• Drive: You can hop on the BR-101 highway, the main road linking the two cities. It’s around 280 miles (450 kilometers) long, and the drive usually takes about 6 to 7 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
• Bus: Several bus companies run routes between Rio de Janeiro and Florianópolis. The bus ride usually takes about 15 to 16 hours, and buses come with varying comfort levels and amenities. It’s a good idea to check the bus schedules and book your tickets early to make sure your trip goes smoothly and comfortably.

If you’re flying into Florianópolis, you’ll arrive at Hercílio Luz International Airport, the nearest airport to the city. From there, you can take a taxi or Uber to your hotel.
